Are Dental Implants Right For You?
Dental implants work best when there is enough healthy bone and gum tissue to support the implant post. Factors like bone density, gum health, and your overall medical history play a role in determining whether implants are the right fit for you.
If you’ve experienced bone loss after a tooth extraction, that doesn’t necessarily rule out implants. Bone grafting may be an option to help build the foundation needed for a successful placement.
Our doctors will evaluate your individual situation carefully before recommending a path forward.
The Benefits of Dental Implants
Beyond replacing the visible tooth, dental implants preserve the jawbone by mimicking the function of a natural root. This helps prevent the bone loss and sunken facial appearance that can happen after tooth loss.
Implants are fixed in place, so there are no adhesives, no removal at night, and no concerns about slipping. You brush and floss them just like natural teeth. For most patients, they become a seamless part of everyday life.
Tooth Replacement Options
Not every patient needs the same solution. Single-tooth implants work well for isolated gaps, while implant-supported bridges can address several missing teeth without altering healthy adjacent teeth.
For patients who have lost an entire arch, full mouth dental implants offer a permanent alternative to removable dentures.
Same-day implant procedures may be available for certain candidates, and both titanium and ceramic (zirconia) implant materials can used depending on your clinical needs and preferences
Our oral surgeons, Dr. Zane Khan, Dr. Farinaz Sepahifar, and Dr. Amanda Napier will help you understand which option makes the most sense for your situation.

The implant process begins with a thorough consultation and imaging appointment.
At Jax Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, we use 3D CBCT imaging to get a precise picture of your bone structure and plan your treatment with guided surgical techniques. This level of preparation helps us deliver accurate and predictable results.
Once the implant post is placed in the jawbone, your body begins a healing process called osseointegration, where the bone gradually fuses with the implant. This phase typically takes three to six months.
After healing is complete, an abutment is attached to connect the implant to your final restoration. This could look like a crown, bridge, or full-arch prosthetic.
Throughout your recovery, our team is available to answer questions and make sure you feel supported at each stage.
